Position Summary:

The Service/Cable TV Technician is responsible for quality installation practices including upgrades, disconnects and troubleshooting of all existing Hotwire services including IP and RF based video, voice and internet. Must have experience with DISH and/or DIRECTV.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Customer activation of fiber optic telecommunication installation in subscriber homes including Single Family, Condo and Apartments in various locations including pulling low voltage wire.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must have minimum of 3 years’ experience in installing and testing cable, phone and internet

  • Ability to install all types of CAT5/CAT6 drop wire

  • Ability to install connectors on CAT5/CAT6 drop wire

  • Ability to install customer premise equipment including digital converters

  • Ability to trouble shoot IP issues from any telecommunications demark to customer premise equipment

  • Ability to configure customer PC for internet operations

  • Ability to test and tone all drop wires from equipment room to end user location

  • Comfortable working on a ladder and all heights

  • Responsible for preparation of customer sites for move in by completing a pre-inspection, and making necessary arrangements with builders, Installation Technicians and or customers.

  • Responsible for installation of all company offered products thru accurate and timely installation

  • Responsible for meeting commitments to customers and following up to guarantee customer satisfaction

  • Prior technician/installation work experience with Fiber, Dish Network/Direct TV.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Must adhere to company specified dress code of khaki pants and button down or polo shirt on a daily basis.

  • Valid driver license and transportation

  • Proficiency using small hand tools and larger power tools

  • Must be able to work with or without direct supervision

  • Ability to work an On-Call Schedule

 

Physical Demands: Lifting of 50 pounds and occasional attic work.
